What Is the Burke Centre SHARE Program?
If you would like to save money on your food bill, consider participating
in SHARE.
It's part of the nationwide SHARE (Self-Help and Resource Exchange)
Program.
There are no income requirements: "If you eat, you qualify."
How Does the Burke Centre SHARE Program Work?
At the beginning of a month a participant pays $15.00 for each bag of
groceries they want that month. For just $15.00 and two hours of volunteer
service, you get a food package worth up to three times the cost!
Everyone, rich or poor, is eligible to participate in share.
The community service may be performed for the Burke Centre SHARE Program,
or for any other community-service provider, such as a faith community,
a school, or a non-profit.
Toward the end of the month, usually on a Saturday, participants pick
up the groceries they have ordered and they may also order groceries for
the next month. Participants pay $15 for each bag of groceries they
will want the next month. Moreover, a participant may donate hours of community
service and money for other participants.
