What Is the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program?
It's a way for Burke Centre
and Burke area residents who do not
speak English as a native language to become fluent in English. And it's
a way to make English-language instruction available to members of our
community for whom it would otherwise be unaffordable or inaccessible.
How Does the English as a Second Language (ESL)
Program Work?
The Burke Centre Conservancy
donates space, and members of the community donate their time as instructors.
The program has beginning, intermediate (grammar), and advanced (vocabulary)
classes.
Where Does the English as a Second Language (ESL)
Program Meet?
The classes are held in a Burke
Centre community center. Some home tutoring is available.
