What is the Computer Training Program?
It's a way for Burke Centre
and Burke area residents to prepare
themselves for the highest-paying employment possible by obtaining computer
training which would otherwise be unaffordable or inaccessible to them.
How Does the Computer Training Program Work?
The training program is free. Friends in the area donate computers.
The Burke Centre Conservancy
donates space. Members of the community donate their time to teach Windows
applications, introduce the Internet and e-mail to those not previously
exposed to its use. We also sometimes offer other computer classes,
such as word-processing and using a spreadsheet.
Where Does the Computer Training Program Meet?
The classes meet in Burke Centre's
Woods Community Center.
How Do I Learn More About the Computer Training Program?
For more information about classes, or to join the computer training
program as an instructor, or to donate equipment, please call Burke CARES
at 703-425-0423.

"If God lets me live,...I shall not remain insignificant.
I shall work
in the world and for mankind. And now I know that
first and
foremost I shall require courage and cheerfulness."
