Why a Medical and Dental Needs Task Force?
One out of every six people in the United States has no health coverage,
and almost one out of every three is without coverage at some time during
any year. Some residents in our community have no medical or dental coverage.
Some cannot afford the medical or dental care they need. And Medicaid benefits
are ending. We need to learn what the unmet medical and dental needs in
our community are and find ways to meet these needs. The Medical and Dental
Needs Task Force, launched in October 1998, hopes to accomplish these goals
.
Who will be the Members of the Medical and Dental Needs
Task Force?
Residents of our community, and other concerned individuals, both from
within the medical and dental professions, and from outside of them. Every
member of the Task Force, like everyone else who makes Burke CARES programs
work, is a volunteer.

shall not remain insignificant. I shall work in the world and for mankind.
And now I know that first and foremost I shall require courage and cheerfulness."
